YES

What the guy below me said. This was off da hook!

FloppDiddly responds:

sovatsuG is cool

I approve of this

I concur. That was a very ugly Pokemon. The voice acting could have used some work though. It only shined in the word "Pokemon".

KittyKrew responds:

Sam is best

That was TEH SHEETZ

How is this not on the front page? This flash demonstrates the true spirit of Newgrounds and Pico Day! Sure there were moments of incoherent randomness, but that's only healthy for a Pico Day submission. How are people not loving this?

"Holy shit, Nene! Your eyes are caving in!"

Horsenwelles responds:

thank you gustav

it was fun to make (with the exception of a lack of voice actors)

Some bad and some good

When a movie has "vs." in the title, you shouldn't expect any kind of story to come into play. But there were still some events I questioned. Why is Mario's sleep animation so wierd? Why is he sleeping in the middle of nowhere on the ground? Why the hell is Master Hand in this, and why is he taking Knuckle's side? Why is Luigi dressed the way that he is.

This movie sported some good, yet overly dramatic 3D sequences, and the Ice Knuckles thing was actually pretty original. But it only served to help me forget all the sounds and graphics in this fight, that would not have happened without major influence from Super Mario Bros. Z.

kirbyky100 responds:

Sonic sleeps where evr he wants, mayb mario was just super tired, nd its not master hand knuckles created like an ice hand, like he summoned it basicly

...wow

I'm an asshole. You know why? Because I thought a good percentage of the animators hanging around the Collaboration Forums these days were incompetent douches with no imagination. All it took were a good five parts and my mind kept repeating "awesome sauce" over and over.

Let me start from the top. The preloader was just a taste of what was to come. I wrote it off unconsciously as uninteresting and hit the Play button once it appeared. I just thought it was going to be a wannabe scetchbook collab of drawings. No, these were animations of those drawings. Wordless animations that don't rely on narrative to move forward. Like pencil and paper drawings with not much meaning to people other than who drew it, that come to life doing their own thing. There didn't need to be any backstory or hidden jokes. It was all inspired work. Stuff the animators just did because they felt like it.

What really made this collab shine was the music. The music which seemed to "fit" with what was going on. Even though there would be no logical explanation for that. It's the kind of music I would put on while I'm working on Flash. Speaking of which, I better download that.

The ending was also brilliant. Sure, we could just say "the end" and "thanks for watching". But Mr...Swishcheese went ahead and turned it into something epic. Give that man a cigar for his work there. Everybody in this collab deserves an A for their effort.

Oh, and I heard about all the drama between this collab and the Game Trailer Collab. I enjoyed both of them greatly. But I'm much more glad this one exists, for it renewed my faith in today's animators, which was depleting greatly from a lot of what I was seeing.

Just one question. Will there be a Sketch Collab 2011? :)

Timsplosion responds:

This is likely my favourite, possibly the best, review I've ever had. I'm not entirely sure how to respond, other than this:
There will be a Sketch Collab 2011.

Brilliant!

I thoroughly enjoyed this collaboration. All of them were entertaining in their own way. I especially feel in love with Imagine Seal Clubbing. Never in my wildest dreams could I have seen that coming, nor laughed harder. The menu was interesting, the preloader explained the concept. There was a way to skip or go back a scene at all times. It was just very well done, this collab.

My only problem? Eight parts. Lame. And some parts didn't even say what game was being trailered.

Archawn responds:

A lot of people dropped out along the way. I wish we had more parts to offer, but at least the parts we do have are pretty hilarious for the most part.

HAHAHA!

Oh man, this made my evening. Glad I caught it before it dissapeared from the recent Flash Portal submissions. As a huge fan of Resident Evil, I applaud your work here. Chris and his overly-musculature body brought an interesting turn of events for RE4's script. And Leon requiring the game to pause to switch weapons was a brilliant move. RE5 WAS more fast-paced anyway. I very much look forward to a Chapter 2 of this series with more video game mayhem resulting from switched characters. :D

grey-cap responds:

we will, well just sorting if we either should look for decent voice acting or just adding subtitles to our native language.

other than that we will definitively keep going

thanks for comenting :)

Instead of "Mario bloopers"

You gave us an original story in a setting with characters that don't need serious explanation. This comedy is very subtle. And that's why I enjoyed it.

Eastbeast responds:

Thanks man. I'm glad you understand. I'm just trying to make people laugh

I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Get yourself the ability to increase sound quality upon exporting, and some subtitles, and you've got yourself a very nice comedy. The jokes were poking fun at the more detailed points of the game, like Jill leaving her gun, and Chris not bringing his. The script was what made this Flash enjoyable.

Increasing Sound Quality upon exporting into movie format:

File > Publish Settings
-click on the Flash tab
-go to "audio stream" and "audio event"
-hit the "Set" button on both of them and change compression from MP3 to ADPCM

Trust me, you'll notice the different in sound quality for voice acting.

m4x12 responds:

cool I'll try that next time :)

Some people just don't have a sense of humor.

You, on the other hand, do. I can't believe the reviews under me. How can they not enjoy this? Sure, the sex scene was a little over the top (but featured great female voice acting), however it's jokes can please a fan of Left 4 Dead AND a fan of the Newgrounds Staff.

I saw this days ago, and I have to say, I was still laughing on a second watch. Very well done, hope you don't end up waiting nine more years to make another movie.

darthnebula responds:

Nah, Im trying to get better at animating again, you should check out my artwork its way better than my movie lol, I need to work more on my animated drawings I know

You've come a long way. Here, have a cookie...your inventory seems to be full. Come back when you can carry more items, I'll hold onto this for you. *Munch* *Crunch*
